With a strike deadline just two hours away, a top presidential aide is telling both sides the White House has no immediate plans to step-in.
The airline has expressed hope that President Clinton might intervene.

A newly released autopsy report confirms child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey was sexually assaulted.

A judge in Boulder, Colorado, released parts of the report today, but sealed most of its contents for 90 days.
According to the report, the six-year-old girl was strangled and suffered severe head injuries.
Among the questions not answered was the time of death.
Prosecutors had asked the judge to seal the report.
They contend it includes information that only investigators and the killer would know.
JonBenet's body was found in the basement of her family's home December 26th.

An environmental group withdrew a full page ad in a Hong Kong newspaper featuring O.J. Simpson.
The British-based Tiger Trust was forced to withdraw the ad featuring Simpson's face and the words "Brains behind the slaughter" after a series of calls from offended people.
A spokesman for the Trust said the ad was NOT meant to offend people, and that the ad was meant to be "tongue-in-cheek."
The ad was referring to the ancient Chinese medical treatments that use tiger brain to cure acne.

A judge sentenced convicted killer Randall Faris to 20 years in prison today for the murder of a Pittsylvania County man.

The 39- year- old pleaded guilty in November to second- degree murder for the shooting death of Bobby Anthony Carter.
Carter's body was found dumped along a roadside in southern Bedford County a year ago.
Faris told police he and Carter had been drinking and smoking crack when they scuffled over a gun.
Judge William Sweeney called it a "malicious and intentional killing" and gave Faris more prison time than called for under state guidelines.
