President Clinton wants to make it easier to buckle your child into a car

In his weekly radio address, he announced new government regulations that
would ensure that all seats fit into any vehicle by 19-99.

(( By Sunday American Airlines said it would be completely caught up and back
to normal after preparing for a strike that never happened.
AMERICAN AIRLINES PASSENGER: GETTING BETTER THE CLOSER I GET TO HOME.
Seats were filled to about 60-percent capacity -- lower than for a usual
President's day weekend.
Thousands of travelers, fearing a strike would strand them, switched to
other airlines.
And now american is offering double frequent flyer miles and discounts of up
to 50-percent to bring people back.
MARY FRANCES FAGAN/AMERICAN AIRLINES SPOKESPERSON: THIS FARE SALE WILL MAKE
IT CHEAPER TO FLY FROM CHICAGO TO LONDON THAN CHICAGO TO L.A.
At just past midnight Friday the pilots picked up their strike signs and --
with military precision -- began their march.
But within minutes the President invoked his emergency powers to order the
pilots back to work.
A Presidentially appointed panel will now hammer out a labor contract
proposal within the next 30 days.
If neither side likes and can't agree it'll be another 30 days before pilots
can strike again. and even then congress has the right to intervene and
propose its own deal.
Some pilots and their supporters felt the President's intervention wasn't
right.

ELECTED ON THE BACK OF LABOR STEPS ON LABOR'S BACK.8
RORY DeANGLIS, FLIGHT ATTENDANT WELL, I THINK IT NEGATES THE POWER LABOR

The threat of a strike has cost american airlines tens of millions of

to a bad storm.
