wildlife, and then releases the animals to the wild--
But if a last ditch fundraising attempt doesn't succeed, the animals, and
the agency will be without a place to go.

Runion's 97 year old Grandmother.
But the agency may have to move, or shut down altogether because the house,
and the 23 acres used by the non-profit agency are set to be sold to Strauss
Construction for residential development.
Dorothy Runion's father has power of attorney for his mother and he wants to
go through with the sale.

Here's the proposal.
VDOT offers to put up 1- point- 2- 5 million dollars... which is half the
amount it would take to rebuild the bridge.
The county would then that match that amount.
But there's a sizeable hitch... only a quarter of the state money is
guaranteed.
That means Botetourt County could end up paying much more for the bridge.
Stand up
There's another catch.
If the board decides to accept this current proposal, the county would be
forced to fund repairs to this bridge in Iron Gate. This bridge only serves one
Botetourt County family and about a half dozen in Alleghany County. The cost of
this project alone is estimated between two and three million dollars.
End stand up
Eagle Rock residents believe their bridge is worth saving at any cost.
They point to the dangers of Route 43... which would represent the only way
in and out of the town if the bridge was lost.

Despite all of their struggles residents have received no concrete promises
from the Board of Supervisors.
But they will get an answer soon.

Seniors Amthey Athey of Cave Spring, William Byrd's Ashley McCallum, and
Blacksburg's Suzanne Moore all big contributors to the lady maroons 22 and 1
record and 18 and OH in the ODAC.
All three would score in double figures last night. Ahtey notches 2 of her
11 in the first half on this play. The Lady Wasps always come to
play. Sallie Lefter collects the SUPER=33-Roanoke/82/Emory & Henry/45;
rebound and scores on the short jumper.
Athey also scored her 1 thousandth career point on this play, her 8th point
of the game. The game was stopped momentarily while she was honored and Roanoke
coasts to the 82-45 win.

second half.
And the players actually listened. B.B. Brown gets the bounce pass to Michael
Shumate for the turnaround jumper and the Tide is up by 11.
The Indians cut the lead to seven with Barry Thompson picking up the loose
ball and converting it into a bucket with 3 minutes left in the game.
With just 18 seconds left, Galax's Scott Hall ices the win with the hoop and
the foul. Galax wins it 58-to-48 over Pocahontas.
SUPER=04-Rocky Gap vs. Bland;
In the second game, cross county rivals Bland and Rocky Gap hooked up in an
emotionally charged showdown.
And watch Rocky Gap's Matthew Akers soar in for the layin and a one point
lead for the Eagles.
Bland would tie the game late in the third period as Lee Meadows drains the
jumper to make it 31-all.
Bland would go on its own run in the third quarter. Jeremiah Tate's basket
gives the Rockets the lead and the win as they advance with the 65-to-50 win.
SUPER=04-Ft. Chiswell vs. Narrows;
In the nightcap the Ft. Chiswell Pioneers met the Narrows Green Wave.
Narrows would keep this one close in the first quarter as Dallas St. Clair
shoots the jumper to cut the Pioneers lead to 3.
But Ft. Chiswell's defense played huge. Derrick Jackson gets this steal and
brings it down for the hoop, as Ft. Chiswell beats Narrows ___ to ____.

finds Simon Jones underneath. He gets the hoop and the harm.
But the Spartans ball handling helped Giles blow it wide open as Ben Brown
coverts the hoop and Giles wins it 71-to-44.

In the nightcap, Rick Cormany and his Bobcats were looking to knock off the
Auburn Eagles.
But the Eagles would get on the board first as Ryan Nolan finds Adam Loveday
underneath for the layin.
Radford would fight back with Andrew Crowder passing to Adam Artrip - who
drains the 3 to put the Bobcats in front.
The Bobcats continued to press as the defense gets the turnover and Tony Hash
gets the layin. And Radford wins it
with ease The semi-finals are set for Thursday night.
