The Mill Mountain Theater production of "A Raisin In The Sun" is powerful and excellently done, from the evocative set to the terrific performances by a talented cast who imbue their characters with believable quirks, warmth, and confusion.

Nicole Bridgwater is a fabulous Ruth, wife and mother...long suffering and noble without being a saint.
Her sister-in-law-Beneatha--Benny--an excellent performance from M. Drue Williams is searching for identity.
What Walter Lee hopes to find is self respect and dignity that he has lost over time. E. Phillip McGlaston plays Walter Lee.
The play is long, but the story is compelling and performances so absorbing that is doesn't drag.
"A Raisin In The Sun" is directed by Clinton Turner Davis and continues through March 9 at Mill Mountain Theater's Main Stage.

For the third weekend in a row, the new and improved "Star Wars" is number one at the box office.
People will go to see Star Wars" because they know what to expect, but "Shine" is not as mainstream, yet it deserves attention.
This is a biographical study of an Australian child prodigy, David Helfgott, who was pushed to excel by his tyrannical and complex father played by Armin Mueller--Stahl.
Then disowned when he wants to continue his studies in London. Under the tutelage of John Gielgud, David does marvelous things, but is unable to handle the emotional stress and has a total breakdown that steals years from his life.
(-------------)

Geoffry Rush has received a well deserved Oscar Nomination for his portrayal of the grown David. Noah Taylor deserves one for his role as David in his difficult adolescence.
"Shine" gets an "A-. Its a compelling story, well told.
