When police got to the scene this morning, school officials had already
blacked out the message.
At this point authorities don't have any suspects... but they say if and
when someone is arrested they'll be charged with defacing public property.
Of course it's been less than a week since a group of white students at
George Wythe were suspended for another racial incident.
Apparently they had tied their jacket drawstrings into nooses.

Two young men have been apprehended as suspects in the murder of a Floyd
The body of 38-year old Stanley W. Harmon was found yesterday morning at
his home in the Buffalo Mountain area.
A rifle was missing, along with his 1977 Pontiac Firebird.
Police in West Virginia reported seeing the car in Greenbrier County late
A state trooper actually located it last night in Rupert.
That led to the arrest of 18-year old Mark Anthony Beavers and 21-year old
Jerry Wayne McKinney on auto theft and fugitive warrants.
Benjamin Scot Elliott and Misty Dawn Dellinger moved in together about two
months ago- -in a trailer near Newport.
Last night he shot her in the head with a large- caliber hand gun. HE
insists it was an accident.
Elliott ran to the neighbors' house for help, and they called 9-1-1. The
20-year old woman was dead.
Elliott was charged with SECOND- degree murder. He's 25.

The election is more than eight months off, but two candidates
are in the running for the post of Lynchburg sheriff.
Retired Lynchburg police officer Ron Gillispie says it's time for a change
in that office.
The sheriff's department has come under fire recently after a female deputy
claimed she'd been sexually harassed on the job.
But Gillispie says he "won't" make that a campaign issue.

A Danville teenager died last night when his older sister apparently pulled
into the path of another car.
It happened around seven in front of Westover Baptist church.
Police say 18- year old Mary Bailey was attempting to cross Route- 58 on her
way to church.
16- year old John Paul Bailey was riding in the front passenger seat and
died later at the hospital.
Police say a younger brother, who was in the back seat, is recovering.
The driver of the other car and his passengers weren't seriously injured.
Charges are pending.
Stocks took a major hit today, following the bond market sharply lower.
The Dow plunged 93 points, closing at 69 hundred 27.
NASDAQ dropped 18 points.

Doctors treated 8 patients the first night the clinic opened, now they see

And that's probably because not many women are in power.
The Glass Ceiling Commission, an advocate for working women, puts the ratio

William Fleming beat Cave Spring 57 to 54 in overtime.

Fleming got a big night from Sophmore Shaunarey Walker. She led the lady
Colonels with a game high 23 points.
Walker scored 9 of Fleming's points in overtime. And the Victory puts the

Fleming and Pulaski County will play for the District title tomorrow night.
The Lady Cougars beat Franklin County 80 to 60.
The Virginia Cavaliers won their 17th game of the year last night with a
55-to-46 win over N.C. State.
