The A-M-A has launched a new coalition of tobacco-free mutual funds that
have pledged not to invest in 17 different tobacco stocks.
In 1986, the AMA divested of all tobacco stocks and mutual funds in it's
own portfolio.
A new study finds that patients who had bad outcomes when it comes to
medical care, were less likely to sue if their doctors were caring and
compassionate.
Doctors with less than two malpractice claims took their time during
routine patient visits spending on average 18 minutes.... compared to those
with 2 or more claims who spent 15 minutes per patient.
Swedish scientists say there may be a link between an aloof personality,
and a communication system in the brain.
Their work, reported in the journal "Nature," focused on receptors in the
brain that bind with the chemical dopamine-- brain cells use the chemical to
talk to each other.
The researchers say it appears that the lower the density of the receptors,
the more likely the person is to be cold and detached.
