A 21 year- old Carroll County man is charged with murdering his roommate.
Teddy Roe Dixon and 50 year- old William Charles Epperson lived together in
Cana.
Epperson's son asked sheriff's deputies to check out the house because he
hadn't seen his father, and a witness had noticed Dixon driving Epperson's
truck.
Deputies found Epperson dead of gunshot and stab wounds.
Mount Airy, North Carolina police spotted the truck and arrested Dixon.
At the time of the murder, Dixon was free on bond on a kidnapping charge in
North Carolina.

Around 6, a passerby spotted flames coming from the rear of this building on
Campbell Avenue.
The blaze spread quickly to the second story and attic of the wood- frame
structure.
Crews spent close to an hour containing the fire.
The building once housed a grocery store, but most recently was being used
for storage.
