brokers to accept a motor vehicle title as collateral on a loan.

The Attorney General says McGuire isn't a bona fide pawn broker. His
exorbitant interest rates are in violation of state law, according to the A-G.
That entitles customers to a full refund.

If all the title holders return to collect a refund, it could cost McGuire
tens of thousands of dollars.

Barely six months have passed since the last time a Christiansburg man was
arrested for distributing drugs.
Tuesday the 74- year- old was arrested again on the same charge.
It was last August that authorities seized crack cocaine and guns from the
home of William Bernice Smith and his wife Josephine, who has since died.
At that time, police said they were eliminating a major crack source in the
New River Valley.
But William Smith was free on bond when he was arrested Tuesday.
Authorities seized crack, marijuana and cash.
Two women were also charged.
A man convicted of the 19-85 slaying of a convenience store manager in
Suffolk was put to death last night.
Coleman Wayne Gray had no final statement.
He carried a Bible as he walked into the death chamber at the Greensville
Virginia plans to steer clear of a program to enforce a new federal rule
making it tougher for children to buy cigarettes.
The Food and Drug Administration rule that takes effect tomorrow requires
retailers view photo identification from tobacco buyers younger than 27.
Virginia did NOT apply for a federal pilot program to help states enforce
the rules, and state officials say they have NO enforcement plans of their own.
Attorney General Jim Gilmore says the government has no business regulating

Federal reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan sent Wall street into a tailspin
