According to a network news report, a final analysis of the handwriting of

Tissue, possibly human, WAS found under Jon Bonet's fingernails, indicating

The broadcast also says-- contrary to earlier reports-- no semen was found
on her body or clothing.
Six Year old Jon Bonet was found strangled to death in the family's
Boulder, Colorado home the day after Christmas.

Eric Ball was found guilty of murder and abduction by a Wythe County jury
today.
The verdicts came down this afternoon, on the third day of the trial.

Ball and two others dumped the body of 17-year-old Ricky Lee Coleman over a
creek bank last year.
An autopsy said Coleman died of exposure, and that he had a high blood
alcohol level.
Ball told the jury yesterday that he thought Coleman was dead at the time.
The jury has not yet determined Ball's sentence.

In Philadelphia today the Virginia Tech Hokies saw their season come to a
close today in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tourney against Rhode
island.

The Hokies took their first lead with 5-minutes left in the first half Ace
Custis hits the jumper from the corner Tech led 22 to 18.
Tech came the momentum on its side as freshman Russ Wheeler hits this
jumper to make it 24 to 18 Tech.
The Hokies upped that lead to 7 at the half then another freshman Brandon
Dunlop's three made it a 34 to 24 as the Hokies led by 10.
Rhode Island rallied midway through the second half - Tyson Wheeler's
jumper gave the rams a 41 to 40 lead and they would never trail again.
Tech fell behind by as many as seven, but Troy Manns takes it to the hoop
cutting the lead to one. but Rhode Island wins it 67 to 63.
Tech finishes the year and the Bill Foster era with a 15 and 16 record.

And West Virginia's tournament title hopes also come to a close today in the
Big East quarterfinals as they lost to Providence 76-to-69.
The Mountaineers are now 19-and-9 and headed either to the NCAA's or the NIT.

newsconference at the Roanoke Civic Center.

But three new owners are also coming on board.
Mark Fackrell, an office supply businessman from Galax, and Mary and Harold

The VMI Keydets are renewing their rivalry with the Naval Academy this coming
football season.
On October 18th of this year, VMI will travel to Annapolis to play the
Midshipmen.
The last time the two teams played was 24 years ago in Lexington.
Spring drills begin for the Keydets on Monday.
