The administration news releases call 1995 and 1996 the second and third
strongest years ever for job creation.
Now we're back to the projected numbers.
Because if you go back to the Virginia employment Commission for ACTUAL job
growth, take a look at the mid- 1980's, under then- Governors Chuck Robb and
Jerry Baliles.
Virginia hit an all-time high in 1984 with 126- thousand new jobs created in
one year.
Compare that to the mid-90's, with Virginia hitting its decade peak in 1994,
with just 85- thousand new jobs... right after Governor Allen took office.
Actual job growth has declined during Allen's term.

Now there's a group upset over the name of a middle school.

current William Clark Middle School.

residents, not just African Americans.

state agreed to buy 60 acres of riverfront property and donate it to Amherst

new park.
