destruction is something entirely different.
Members of a Danville National guard unit stationed in Bosnia will have

Lieutenant Todd Gibbs has living in in Bosnia for about two weeks.
He and 45- Danville National guardsmen are stationed there as peacekeepers.
Last week, the unit officially took over the mission from a group out of

A five year old is believed to have fatally shot his six year old brother in
Police were called to the Greenfield Apartments around 11:30 Sunday morning.
The two boys had been playing outside their apartment building when they
went back inside and found the gun.
Authorities believe the gun went off accidentally, striking the six-year-
old in the upper body.
He died last night at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Charges against the parents may be pending.

Roanoke City Council has narrowly approved the purchase of two new fire
Council voted to buy two quints, vehicles that combine the functions of a
pumper and an aerial ladder truck.
Firefighters have argued the quints are part of a plan to downsize the
department, but Mayor David Bowers said he was disappointed with what he called
a "campaign of fear."

And the firefighters promise more questions about the city's ongoing
effort to reorganize their department.
Of seven Virginia Tech football players indicted after a campus brawl last
August, Angelo Harrison was the only one charged with a felony and suspended
from the team for the season.
Today, Montgomery County circuit judge Ray Grubbs found him NOT guilty.
Harrison was accused of breaking track athlete Hilliard Sumner's collarbone.
Sumner identified Harrison as the person who attacked him with a cane.
But other witnesses disputed that, including football player Tyron Edmond,
who is charged with a misdemeanor.

A Wythe County man, upset over some trees that were cut down on his
property, threatened to set himself on fire outside the Poff Federal Building
A U.S. Marshall first noticed the man as he chained himself to a bench in
front of the building.
He was holding a jug of gasoline and smoking a cigarette.
Police who talked with the man say he was upset about Wythe County removing
some trees from his property.
Finally, a parole officer talked him into unlocking the chain and releasing

He was escorted into the building, and later released.
Drug gang members may NOT get their own individual shots at justice starting
July first in Virginia.
Governor George Allen signed bills today allowing gangs to be tried jointly
in one trial... and making it a capital offense to murder or order the murder

Yesterday the Late Model Stocks were in control of the Martinsville Speedway,
as race winner david Hyder found out that good things do indeed come to those

Last year, Roanoke County voters rejected a 37 million dollar bond issue for
school renovation and new school construction.
Shortly thereafter, a special Blue Ribbon Commission was formed--
