Festival.
Organizers said they're encouraged enough by the weekend turnout to try a
repeat next year.
The event had been planned for the Hotel Roanoke but was moved because of an
N-A-A-C-P boycott of several hotel chains over minority hiring practices.
One of the festival's guests was Richmond civil rights lawyer Oliver Hill.
As a boy, Hill appeared in a 19-22 movie made in Roanoke by pioneer black
filmmaker Oscar Micheaux.
