A new road is in the making to give easier access to Valley View Mall, but some parents say the road may be hazardous to students at Huff Lane Magnet School.

The planned route should ease congestion on Hershberger Road.
It would connect the shopping center to interstate 5-81.

Last night at a meeting at Huff Lane, School Board assistant superintendent Dick Kelley briefed students and teachers on the latest plans for the road.
It looks as if it may be routed between Tire America and Huff Lane school.
That could put the school within 20 feet of a four lane highway.

"Return of the Jedi" topped the box office this week as its two Star Wars predecessors.
The empire striking back puts the force on a small romance that will appeal mostly to a select audience.
"Love Jones" is a sweet, but predictable and surprisingly listless love story about two attractive, sophisticated, intelligent young people who although apparently well matched, find every way possible to misinterpret each other's behavior.
Lorenz Tate is Darius, a writer, who wants to be Mr. Smooth when he meets the lovely Nina--Nia Long.
She's been burned in love and is suspicious of romance.
The supporting cast is fun to watch. But the story itself is weak. "Love Jones" gets a "B-".
This is more like a Black version of "Friends" with less humor and saltier language. 7BIRTHDAYS! 3/20/97
