Adam Binford's mother told police Adam was standing in shallow water yesterday when she heard a splash, and he disappeared.
Today rescue workers found the boy's body near a 450 pound alligator.
The alligator was killed by a trapper.
Authorities say their initial investigation indicates the alligator killed the boy.
Autopsies will be performed on both the child and the alligator.

Fred Hoback Junior served 15 years on the bench before stepping down in April of 19-93.
Hoback was appointed to the judgeship in 1978, becoming the first judge on what was then the newly formed Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
