Meantime, current Governor, George Allen has vetoed eleven parts of the state budget.
Among the vetoes issued by Allen before last night's midnight deadline to act on bills passed by the legislature this year was budget language that he said would undermine welfare reform.
The language would have exempted full-time students who receive welfare from the requirement to get a job.
Allen also vetoed one- point- four- million dollars for a new house for Christopher Newport University President Paul Trible.
The General Assembly will take up Allen's vetoes at its April 2nd override session.
