But when the attorney general takes the tobacco side in a legal battle with the federal government- a contribution from Philip Morris draws attention.
Republican candidate for governor Jim Gilmore flew to New York last week on a Philip Morris corporate jet.
There he raked in 50- thousand dollars in campaign donations at a company fundraiser -- including 20-thousand from Philip Morris itself. Ellen Qualls reports.

A tape of the robbery was broadcast on local t-v, including WDBJ.

Detectives arrested the teen at his girlfriend's home in Lynchburg.
He reportedly has confessed to the crime.
Pedro is charged with robbery.

A former Radford firefighter who ran a fire truck into a parked police car may never be tried for driving under the influence of drugs.
Special prosecutor Gino Williams had to dismiss the charge today because a lab at Medical College of Virginia can't find Tommy Long's blood test results.
Williams expects to reinstate the charge if and when the report turns up.
Long requested the independent analysis.
A STATE lab test revealed what a toxicologist described as an unusually high level of a prescription medication in Long's blood.
