If you believe the tape, the 39 men and women who committed suicide were looking forward to their deaths. A letter was sent with the tape to a former cult member identified only as Rio. Rio's boss says every one of the cult members said goodbye in the video: NICK MATSORKIS/EMPLOYS FORMER CULT MEMBER Matsorkis says the group apparently believed a u-f-o...hidden behind the Hale-Bopp comet...was coming to earth to deliver them to heaven. The cult designed web pages under the name higher sources and had worked for Matsorkis designing computer internet web pages. He and his employee...Rio...were the first to discover the mass suicide wednesday night. Authorities now say it appears the 39 people took drugs to kill themselves, and that some of the bodies may have been in the million-dollar estate for as long as a week.

The state's dropped D-U-I charges against a former Radford firefighter, at least for now.
Tommy Long was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after the fire truck he was driving hit a police car.
According to a state toxicologist, a blood test revealed an unusually high level of a prescription medicine.
But a lab at the Medical College of Virginia can't find the results of the independent blood test it conducted at Long's request.
Special prosecutor Gino Williams says he needs the results to refile the charges.

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine reports that bone marrow transplants intended to cure cancer can in some cases CAUSE cancer years later.
The National Cancer Institute research says the reason appears to be the high doses of radiation that are necessary with the procedure.
