convenience store.

Authorities say 19- year- old Chad Michael Pedro (PEH-drow) robbed the
Quik-E food store in Forest early Wednesday morning.
After seeing a videotape of the holdup on t-v last night, an acquaintance of
Pedro's called police to say she recognized the teenager's voice and clothing.
Detectives arrested the teen this afternoon at his girlfriend's home near
Lynchburg.
He reportedly has confessed to the crime.
Pedro has been charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a
felony.

scheduled to appear in court April 8th.

A former Radford firefighter who ran a fire truck into a parked police car
may never be tried for driving under the influence of drugs.
Special prosecutor Gino Williams had to dismiss the charge today because a
lab at Medical College of Virginia can't find Tommy Long's blood test results.
Williams expects to reinstate the charge if and when the report turns up.
Long requested the independent analysis.
A STATE lab test revealed what a toxicologist described as an unusually
high level of a prescription medication in Long's blood.

volunteers and a program called "America's Treeways".

major roadways in Appomattox, Campbell and Pittsylvania Counties.
It's all part of a joint effort between V-DOT and the National Tree Trust
aimed at beautifying the state's highways.
