The trial of Oklahoma City bombing suspect Timothy McVeigh begins tomorrow with jury selection gets underway in a Denver, Colorado courthouse.
The first step is to narrow the field to 64 potential jurors who are willing to consider the death penalty if McVeigh is found guilty.

((Federal marshals moved Timothy McVeigh to a holding cell at the courthouse in Denver, the courthouse where the 28-year-old will fight for his life. McVeigh has been vilified in media accounts as recent as this weekend when the Denver post reported that a neo-nazi serving time in prison said McVeigh was part of a plot to kill federal judges. For the McVeigh trail, authorities have taken no chances...literally building a wall around the courthouse in downtown Denver. The media will report from a metal-fenced pen accessible only with federally-issued security passes. The trial process begins with jury selection that could take days. Jurors will be picked from an original pool of 500 northern Coloradans who no doubt have heard at least some of the incriminating reports. John Walsh is a former prosecutor analyzing the trial for CBS News. JOHN WALSH/FORMER FEDERAL PROSECUTOR: AND I THINK YOU COULD FIND 12 PEOPLE WHO CAN SIT ON A JURY AND SAY I'VE HEARD A VARIETY OF THINGS IN THE PRESS BUT I HAVEN'T HEARD ANY EVIDENCE YET. Much of that evidence about a rental truck and fertilizer will seem emotionless in comparison with the carnage that April morning two years ago. But in the audience there'll be reminders...like Marcia Kight who's daughter died in the explosion. Also present will be Timothy McVeigh's father who has said little publicly about his son. In Virginia, the chances of getting jury duty are dropping.
Jury trials in the state have dropped by almost 60 percent.
The drop is tied to sentencing guidelines and the elimination of parole.
Before the state abolished parole, five percent of all criminal cases were tried by jury.
That number is down to 2-point-2 percent.
Under the new sentencing guidelines, offenders must serve at least 85 percent of their sentence.
