The prime suspect in the double murder of a Roanoke woman and her mother
is still in the hospital this morning.
Officials say Miguel Ortiz is alive, but will not release any other
information.
Police shot Ortiz Tuesday night after he allegedly shot Sharon and Deborah
Casey, AND after he held an armed standoff with police for an hour and a half.

very dangerous hostage situation at a Danville juvenile detention home.

Danville police say two juveniles at the W- W Moore Detention home took
three staff members hostage at gunpoint around one- thirty yesterday morning.
The three were held inside a room for about an hour before one of the
employees managed to grab the gun and run outside.
Police say about 42- juveniles were inside at the time-- they're still
determining who was involved.
