State police say a Toyota Camry and Montgomery County bus number one
collided in a curve on Bishop Road.
The 13 students on board were on their way home from Blacksburg Middle
School and Blacksburg High School.
The driver of the Camry died at the scene.
A 12 year-old girl who was riding in the front seat of the bus was taken to
the hospital with a bloody nose and neck pain.
All of the other students were released to their parents.

of a gunshot meant for her mother.

Andrea Dalton died at the hospital yesterday from a gunshot fired by her
father.
Police say 37 year-old Donnie Ray Dalton fired one round from a sawed-off
shotgun at his wife-- Andrea's mother.
Audrey Dalton was killed instantly.
But the spray from the shot also struck Andrea.
Dalton later fired one more round to take his own life.
When police finally determined it was safe to enter the trailer, they found
his body near the door.
Family members said Dalton was upset over divorce proceedings.
Police had escorted Audrey to the trailer so she could collect some
belongings.

Then he took it a step further.

A pair of high-profile drug informants entered pleas of NOT guilty before a
federal magistrate in Roanoke today.
Javier Cruz and Leo Ri-vera both pled guilty long ago, but were re-indicted
in January... Same charges- -only this time adding specific acts of drug
trafficking.
The two men freely lived in the Roanoke Valley for years while working as
informants for the government.
They may still have to testify against some of the two dozen other people
indicted along with them.

It's a complicated procedure-- with two separate operations--
Benji Varsani had been totally blind for two years.

This artificial cornea was then implanted under his cheek so the tissue
