Two hours into the standoff, police fire teargas into the trailer.
Still no sound from 37 year- old Donnie Ray Dalton.
A short time later, they recovered the body of his wife, 36 year-old Audrey
Police had escorted her to the trailer to collect some belongings.
They found it quiet and assumed Donnie Ray had done what he was told, to
stay away till 6pm.
As Audrey approached, gunshots rang out.

suAs the gunfire erupted, Audrey's companions pulled her 16 year- old
daughter, who had been hit in the chest and stomach behind this van. They
crouched there until police were able to escort them to safety.

Walls says Audrey and her two daughters had been at a women's shelter since
she left her husband a couple of weeks ago.
She had left and returned before, but decided this time it was over.

Dalton was true to his word.
Police found him dead inside the trailer. His daughter died during surgery.

Meanwhile in Seattle, a man kept police at bay for 11- hours.
But this time, the suspect was armed with a SWORD.
SWAT Teams tried to talk the man into giving up the Samarai- Styled sword.
When negotiations did NOT work, police ended up subduing the man by spraying
him with fire hoses.
His family says he's been in and out of a local mental hospital for the past
10 years-- but is considered safe as long as he takes his medication.

The Department of Forestry believes Norfolk Southern trains are to blame
for a number of brush fires in Roanoke and Bedford Counties.
Firefighters are still showering water on a few hot spots with a helicopter
over the estimated 95 acres burned.

The flames were apparently sparked by a Norfolk Southern train... because
the fire followed the trail of the railroad tracks.
Forestry officials say the malfunction was likely caused by either faulty
brakes or a problem with the smoke stack.
Apparently this is nothing new.
Firefighters say this is the third time in the past week something like this
has happened... just not to this extent.
An 80-foot fall from a train trestle into the James River sent a Bedford
County woman to the hospital yesterday.
It happened on the railroad bridge between Amherst County and Lynchburg.
22- year- old Amanda Shackelford and 23- year- old Gabriel Forest were
walking across the trestle when a southbound Norfolk Southern train approached.
Witnesses say the two tried to outrun the train but Shackelford tripped and
fell about 80-feet into the river.
She is listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon.
An ex- convict and graffiti artist is charged in the rape and beating of
the nine- year- old Chicago girl, known only as "Girl X".
Police say 25- year- old Patrick Sykes confessed to attacking the girl in
Sykes allegedly pulled her into a vacant apartment in the housing project
where both lived.
He then allegedly raped her, poured gasoline down her throat, and scrawled
gang initials on her body.
After she was found, "Girl- X" laid unconscious for weeks in the hospital.
She is still unable to speak.
What was going to be a routine traffic stop escalated into a 30- minute
police chase in Miami.
Authorities were trying to pull over this truck.
Instead, the driver sped away with police close behind.
He did NOT get too far, though--
The truck got stuck on some railroad tracks.
And once the driver took off on foot, authorities were able to capture him.
They believe the meat- and- seafood truck may have been stolen.
When Sharon Casey and her mother were shot and killed Tuesday in Roanoke,
people who knew them were worried about what would become of Casey's children.
Two of Casey's best friends, one of whom rescued the children from Casey's
apartment right before the murders took place, tell News 7 the youngsters will
live with relatives.
Close friends say even though Casey and Mike Ortiz fought before their
break- up, Tuesday's murders came as a shock.

A Franklin County jury deliberated for two hours before finding a county
woman guilty of the second-degree murder of her live-in boyfriend.
The jury recommended yesterday that Angela Light serve eight years in prison
for killing Clyde Price Junior.
The 25- year- old Light claimed she shot Price to kill him -- but did it in
