SUPER=03-Roanoke/Tuesday;

A grand jury yesterday returned six indictments against Miguel Ortiz, the man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and her mother last week.
One of the charges is for Capital Murder, which means prosecutors could seek the death penalty.
Ortiz was shot by police after the two hour standoff- he is still hospitalized.
The Commonwealth attorney expects formal charges against Ortiz in a few days.
SUPER=03-Roanoke/Last Night;

Meanwhile friends and family of Deborah and Sharon Casey gathered last night at the Hamlar-Curtis funeral home.
They remembered the mother and daughter one week after they were shot to death.
Many people say the only way justice will be served in the case is if the killer gets the death penalty.

Cellular phones could help save the lives of stalking and domestic violence victims in Wythe and Smyth counties.
3-60 Communications donated five cellular phones to both sheriff's departments, and five to the Family Resource Center in Wytheville.
The agencies will distribute the phones to victims considered to be at high risk for attack.
The phones may not receive calls.
They're programmed only to call authorities in an emergency.

Fire crews battling a 250 acre forest fire have been torching areas along the fire line.
That way there is no fuel left for the wildfire to consume.
At this point no one's been hurt and no homes have been threatened.
The fire's been going since Saturday night and it regained some strength today because of the lack of rain.
Firefighters from several states have been called in and they expect to have the fire under control by today.
