A huge economic blow for Brookneal and Campbell County--
Thomasville Furniture apparently has decided to close its Brookneal plant by
June, leaving more than 325 people out of work.
Sources say a declining furniture market has forced the shutdown.
Workers reportedly were told this afternoon.
Brookneal has been home to the Thomasville plant for several decades.
An official notice from the company is expected tomorrow.

Once believed to be unsinkable, the British Luxury Passenger ship went down
in the North Atlantic Ocean after hitting an iceberg.
