It happened early this morning-
Police say 34 year old Anthony Meadows shot and killed 32 year old Susan Jean
Sartin and then shot himself.

Now both are dead in Giles County victims of an apparently murder-suicide.
It happened early this morning at the home of 34 year-old Anthony Meadows
and 32 year-old Susan Jean Sartin shared in Glen Lyn.
Family members found their bodies shortly after receiving an alarming phone
call from Meadows.

Lucas says according to the family, Sartin wanted to leave Meadows.
But investigators don't know if that's what prompted the shooting.
Lucas says it appears Meadows shot Sartin with a small-caliber weapon,

Some Botetourt County residents think their elected officials may be
sacrificing industrial growth for education.
And tonight, they got a chance to express their concerns.

Parents like Michele Kernan are having a hard time understanding why her
Board of Supervisors have asked the School Board to cut its budget by more than
2 million dollars.
If full funding is not granted, teacher pay raises will be sliced and no new
school busses will be purchased.
Parents say it would be one thing if the county was financially strapped.
But they say that's not the case.
Parents point to money that will be pumped into Botetourt Center at
Greenfield and the rebuilding of the Eagle Rock bridge.
But they're most intrigued by the 14 million dollars sitting in the county's

But county officials say the reserve fund won't be so plentiful in the

The State Health department is counting heads at a Roanoke Hospital.
That after some nurses complained about staffing at Carilion Roanoke
Their complaints focus on the neonatal intensive care ward- where there say
the number of on-duty nurses falls below state guidelines.
Health Department inspectors will wrap up an on-site investigation tomorrow.
Carilion says personnel records show they are following state guidelines.
The Health Department will report it's findings in 6 to 8 weeks.
