With no power, no phones, no drinking water, town leaders say it'll be two
weeks before most of Grand Forks can think about returning home.

Evacuations are also going on tonight in Ohio- after 33 train cars jumped
The Conrail freight cars derailed near a bridge over the Sandusky Bay.
Although all the cars are empty- about eight cars do have traces of the
toxic chemical- sodium hydroxide.
As a precaution, people nearby were told to leave their homes- while the
cleanup goes on.
No word on what caused the derailment.
One of the three men charged in the murder of a Pulaski County man last fall
pleaded no contest today.
Eddie Gibson was convicted of first degree murder in the stabbing of Elmer

Police found Fisher's body on the banks of the New River last September.
They maintain Gibson drove the victim and two other men to that spot and
then killed him.
Gibson had also been facing a robbery charge, but that was dismissed.
He'll be sentenced later.
A new business in Roanoke features young women modeling lingerie for sale.
Management says that's the extent of business at Shooters-44.

loosely-clothed women behind the counter.
Though one man was arrested for pandering Thursday night, he says news

Marilyn Manson is a self-avowed Satan worshiper, whose band is known for
vulgar lyrics and a sensational act.
Richmond city council last week cancelled the concert -- then was told it
was violating the first amendment.
The city even floated the idea of paying the band NOT to play, but Manson

Wind and snow are holding up the search for a missing Air Force jet-

A powerful helicopter was supposed to fly in to help- but strong wind and
poor visibility delayed the chopper's arrival.
It's needed to take crews to the site where searchers spotted what may be
debris from the plane.

Skydiving looks easy when everythings going right-
but when something goes wrong it's a different story.
Skydiver Paul Robards got tangled in his parachute over the weekend.
That's when his six years of experience kicked in.
Robard's foot got caught in one of the lines- so he cut himself free but his
foot was still caught.
He was on his way down head first-

Robards landed in a junk yard but he says any landing feet first is

People who live there say it's time for Bedford, Pittslyvania, and Franklin
County officials to work together to decide.
Citizens have been on the job for almost 2 years-- tonight they presented
THEIR ideas to the public.

The committee wants to make sure the LAKE WATER stays clear.
They say keeping silt out of lake during construction is of paramount
Utilities are another concern. The lake region has no central water supply.
A suggestion offered early and often was the creation of a "LAKE REGION"
that would have uniform laws and codes.
Currently the lake falls under the jurisdiction of three different counties.

Two men from Tennessee are charged with trying to rob a Kroger store in
50-year old Donnie Davis and his 54 year old brother Leo are charged with
attempted armed robbery.
The store manager said a man came into the Hollins Kroger, demanded money
and said he had a homemade bomb.
The manager told the man to wait while he got some cash, then instead got to
a phone and called police.
The men drove off in a car that matched the one the Davis brothers were
driving that night.
A state trooper in Smyth County spotted it, and stopped them Friday night.
If you live in Roanoke- expect a possible cut in the Real estate tax rate-
Roanoke City Council is preparing to make the cut but members are also
considering a new tax on cellular phone service.
Today, City Manager Bob Herbert presented a 161-million dollar spending
The proposed budget maintains services, gives city employees a modest raise,
and funds the local share of the school budget.
It would also reduce the real estate tax rate by a penny.

The Boston Marathon and it's endless number of runners hit the streets
yesterday in Bean Town.

The mass of humanity known as the field of runners took over the streets of
the Boston for 101st running of prestigious Boston Marathon.
Not surprisingly a Kenyan would again capture the men's championship as
Lameck Aguta pulled away in the final mile to beat countryman Joseph Kamow with
a time of 2 hours, 10 minutes and 33 seconds. He's the 7th straight Kenyan to
win the title.
On the women's front Ethiopia's Fati-ma Roba the reigning olympic champion in
the marathon won in two hours 26 minutes and 24 seconds.
Jeff Gordon helped the Martinsville Speedway get the track's long 50th
anniversary celebration off to a rousing start.
