A Roanoke County restaurant operated by a drug dealer turned D-E-A informant
has closed.
Tempation's was the business of Javier Cruz.
Cruz left the state after reports were published last fall about drug
smuggling charges against him.
His arrest in 19-91 led to an undercover role infiltrating Colombia's Cali
drug cartel.
Investigators said Cruz provided information that helped lead to 136 arrests
around the country.
Cruz's attorney contends that publicity about his client's drug activities
damaged the restaurant.

A national conservation group says some of Virginia's highway billboards
aren't making the grade.
Scenic America claims more than one-third of the state's billboards don't
meet the requirements of Highway Beautification Act.
The group says Virginia ranks 19th in the country for non-conforming
billboards.
Texas is ranked first.
For total numbers of signs, Virginia ranks 26th in the nation with more than
36-hundred billboards.
Florida is number one in that category.

Three weeks ago Donnie Ray Dalton opened fire on his wife through the window
of the family's mobile home before taking his own life.
Audrey Dalton died at the scene.
Sixteen- year- old Andrea Dalton died during surgery.
Family members say 15- year- old Vanessa Dalton is living with an aunt and
uncle now, and has returned to school.
They're setting up a trust fund they hope will help her rebuild her life.
Donations may be made at the Bank of Carroll in Hillsville.
