So far the investigation into yesterday's murder near Interstate 81 in
Montgomery County has not produced an arrest.
57- year- old Estel (ESS-tuhl) Singleton was shot and killed Wednesday
morning at the Ironto rest area.
He had moved to Roanoke from Bluefield about six years ago when his wife
and today former neighbors in Garden City said they considered him a good

hand-picked Denver reporters.
JonBenet Ramsey was found strangled in the basement of her parents house
the day after Christmas-- eight hours after her mother says she found a ransom
During the interview, the Ramseys asked for the public's help in
identifying the murderer-- and had a terse message for the person responsible.

No comment today from the Boulder District Attorney-- who had previously
said the Ramseys were the primary focus of the investigation.
Attorney General Jim Gilmore has reprimanded one of his lawyers for what he
describes as an offensive letter.
A letter from Assistant Attorney General Alison Landry to a Richmond
attorney called the attorney "a bushy-tailed feminist."
Attorney Eileen Wagner was the letter's recipient.
Wagner represents Christy Brzonkala in her alleged rape case against two
Virginia Tech football players.
Gilmore's assistant mocked Wagner for-- quoting the letter here, "chronic
tantrums" and a "hopelessly manipulative" style, along with the feminist slur.

Railroad union members throughout the country held informational pickets
Specifically, workers are upset about higher standards being proposed to
qualify for certain disability pensions.
The Railroad Retirement Board has until the end of July to complete the
disability revisions it's working on.
The unions have hinted they may go on strike if all the parties involved
don't reach a compromise.
