A fatal collision in Roanoke less than an hour ago.
Roanoke police say the accident happned tonight at about 10:15 at the corner of Orange Avenue and 13th Street.
The driver of a car, a woman hit the curb, veered into oncoming traffic and slammed into a tractor trailer.
Police believe she died instantly.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
So far there's no word on the cause of the accident.
The victim's name has not been released yet.

Even a majority of BLACK voters-- 54 percent approved of the proclamation.
The poll shows the Confederate battle flag is a much more divisive issue.
72 percent of white voters see it as a symbol of Southern pride and heritage; 43 percent of the black voters look at it that way.
17 percent of white voters see the battle flag as a racist symbol; 50 percent of the black voters consider it an emblem of racism and slavery.

He began his career in Wythe County, before moving onto Roanoke City and finally to Salem, where he has worked for the past 14 years.

Willis has been Blue Ridge district and Friday Football Extra coach of the year on numerous occasions, but his biggest accomplishment came this past December when the Spartans won their First Group AA Division 4 state championship by beating Sherando at Victory stadium.

After struggling for a couple of months and missing the cut in seven straight events, Chip Sullivan finally got on track yesterday during the first round of the Bell South Open in Duluth, Georgia.
Chip shot a three under round of 69 highlighted by a 32 on the back side.
Don Pooley leads after the first 18 with an 8 under par 64.
The final two rounds of the tournament will be right here on your Hometown Station Saturday and Sunday.

The Kings, Known to many as the first family of golf in the valley, had second thoughts about adding another captain choice tournament.

The Washington & Lee women's tennis team was knocked out of the winner's bracket the NCAA championships today in California.
Kenyon College beat W&L 6 to 3 in the semi-finals.
