One car apparently struck the wall after a three car collision.

A weird triple play in the fifth inning of the Giants Cubs game. Stan Javier's flyball to short center the infield fly rule is enforced then Brian McRae throws to third for an out and the throw goes back to second for the triple play.

The Race went flag to flag without a caution and when the Checkered flag fell Mark Martin was the winner of the Winston 500 and the average speed of 188 point 354 was the fastest in NASCAR history.

A smooth start at the superspeedway and pole sitter John Andretti led the field on the first three laps.
While he was leading, several cars were bunched together side by side on the straight away.
But Earnhardt made his move passing Andretti on the back stretch to take his first lead of the race his teammate Mike Skinner moved to second. Earnhardt led 61 of the first 98 laps.
South Boston's Ward Burton was running 8-th but he had engine problems that forced him to the pits.
Jeff Burton made his move and he was the leader of the race with just over 70 laps to go to the checkered flag.
Rusty Wallace crossed the line on a pit stop he was held for 10 seconds ending his chances at winning.
But Martin moved to the front and he was able to hole off Earnhardt to win the race, his second win in a row.

In Chestertown, Maryland, Washington College beat the Roanoke Men 14 to 9 and John's Hopkins defeated the women 15 to 7.
