City councilman Jack Parrott says he was wrong to vote for the 14-percent
pay hike last Monday.
Parrott says many residents are complaining about council's raise.

Some Bedford County students took the day off from school on a dare today.
That was the reward for 900 fifth grade students in Bedford County who have
completed 17 weeks of DARE training in their schools.
The county's law enforcement and emergency personnel put on an open house of
