THIRTY high school girls have sent in the 300-dollar deposit necessary to hold a position in the corps of cadets.
Thirteen of them are Virginians.
A dozen states are represented, PLUS two COUNTRIES: Russia and Taiwan.
Sixty-four female applicants have been accepted.
And it's still not too late for some of the rest to send in deposit money.
Based on past ratios, as many as 37 women may fall into the ranks of the class of two- thousand- and one in August.

Those are pretty surprising comments... considering Andy's been a FIGHTER for most of his life.
When he was just six years old living in Saigon, his parents... fearful of communist rule... sent him to America.
He hasn't seen them since.
And once he arrived in this country he found himself up against the ropes again.

Andy could have thrown in the towel at that point... but he didn't.
He went on to live with a family in Richmond, where he flourished in school.
Now he's set to receive his degree in biology and in a few weeks he'll join the Air Force.
Clearly, by rolling with the punches of life, Andy Nguyen has proven himself a winner both in and out of the ring.

Andy (WHEN) Nguyen will get a chance to reunite with his natural family in the coming months.
Once he finishes up his Air Force training he'll be stationed in South Korea... placing him within traveling distance of his native Saigon.
