The Montgomery County board of supervisors and Pulaski County school board members will get pay hikes.
The Pulaski board voted itself a raise for the first time since 1984, doubling members' pay from 900 to 18-hundred dollars a year.
Montgomery supervisors voted to increase THEIR pay to nine thousand dollars a year, a 30-percent jump.
Montgomery's compensation will be the maximum the state allows for a county of its size.

The flatbed truck ran off the right side of the road and down an embankment.

The antique truck only had minor damage.
The Shriners were on their way to an event in Big Stone Gap.

Nationally, banks lose about 800 million dollars annually from check fraud-- almost ten times as much as in bank robberies.
The program has been underway for about a month at this First Union. And, so far Smith said it's helped discourage non-customers from coming back.
