A car wreck in Rockbridge County yesterday afternoon left one teenager dead.
State police say 14-year-old Barbara Ellen Lamb was a passenger in a truck driven by Jason W. McManama.
Police say McManama was speeding around a curve on route 7-10.
He swerved off the right side of the road and hit an embankment.
Lamb was thrown from the truck, and died at the scene.

Fire destroyed a Radford home. Fire fighters were called to the 25-hundred block of Third Street around 3-30 this morning.

Crews from Radford and Fairlawn battled the blaze for hours.
But in the end there was nothing they could do.
No one was home when the blaze started and there were no reported injuries.

Earl Bramblett is suspected of killing a Vinton family of four, three years ago.
According to published reports, if convicted, prosecutors in the case plan to show evidence possibly linking Bramblett to other crimes including sexual assaults of teenagers and drug offenses.
If convicted of the Vinton killings, the jury could consider the other allegations when deciding to give him life in prison or the death penalty.
Defense attorneys are asking that a trial scheduled for next month be postponed so they can review any new charges or allegations.

Sources say the DNA tests results show nothing unusual, but have not been revealed to the Ramsey's.
Attorney's for the Ramsey's are battling to get the test results as well as the original copy of the ransom note left by JonBenet's killer.
They want to have their own experts look at the letter.
Patsy Ramsey is scheduled to give the police a fifth handwriting sample sometime next week.
An appointment to get the sample last week was canceled.

They brought along an oxygen generator to replace the one that caught fire on the station.
They also came to pick up U.S. astronaut Jerry Linenger.
Linenger endured the fire, high temperatures and other problems aboard Mir.
As he came aboard Atlantis he said it's good to be back on American soil.
He was replaced on Mir by astronaut Michael Foale.

Today, the county presented his family with the award.

Dale Jarrett passed Dale Earnhardt with five laps to go and he takes the checkered flag in the first 30 lap segment.
Bobby Labonte recovered from his spin in segment one he passed his brother Terry 13 laps in and he takes the checkered flag winning the second segment.
The 10 lap shootout belong to Jeff Gordon he passed Terry Labonte on the second lap and it was over Gordon winning the Winston.
