When Brown stepped outside to investigate, one of the men apparently opened
fire.
Brown is in fair condition in Bristol Regional Medical Center with a

molesting a teenage boy.

Worrell M. Delaney of Roanoke apparently ran a red light then struck another
car traveling along alternate route 2-20.
According to police beer bottles thrown from the truck were found at the
scene. Officials believe drunk-driving may have been a factor in the accident.
Another passenger in the truck and four people in the car suffered minor
injuries.
Police are still investigating the accident and charges are pending against
the driver of the truck.

One man died and another was injured in a massive roof fall at a Tazewell
County coal mine.
Authorities say the death was the first mining fatality in Virginia this
year.
The roof fall, one of the most common types of mining accidents, was
reported in the Solus Coal Number one mine in the Middle Creek section of Cedar
Bluff Thursday.
Thirty-five- year- old Thomas Layne Kinder of Cedar Bluff was trapped by an
initial roof collapse and probably died after a second fall.
Another miner, was rescued after the first roof fall.

Commencement speaker Victoria Kennedy, commended the school for fostering
the pioneering spirit in its students.

says gender inequalities still exist in the workplace.
