Two central Virginia teenagers charged with murder are back in Appomattox
County tonight after a week on the run.

The two men police say shot and killed a Lynchburg woman May Ninth are back
18-year old Brandon Wayne Hedrick of Campbell County is charged with capital
murder in the death of 23-year old Lisa Yvonne Crider.
Another 18-year old, Trevor Anthony Jones of Lynchburg, faces a murder
Police say information they received last week helped them identify Hedrick
and Jones as suspects in Crider's murder.
The two were picked up Saturday afternoon in Lincoln, Nebraska, where Jones
traveled to see a family member.

Danny King is facing death for the murder of Roanoke County realtor Carolyn
Rogers--now he's asking a federal judge to reverse his conviction.

Danny King's appeal has already been rejected by the Virginia Supreme Court.
Today King's attorneys argued that the court should have reversed the
conviction, because police investigators ignored King's request for a lawyer
when interrogating him.
An attorney for the Commonwealth says King never clearly asked for a
lawyer... and even if he had... he never confessed to police.
Judge Samuel Wilson did not rule on the matter today.
NBC Sportscaster Marv Albert has been indicted on sodomy and assault charges
in Northern Virginia.
According to Arlington Police... the woman who filed the complaint accuses
Albert of biting her and then sexually assaulting her at the Ritz Carlton
Hotel, February 12th.

A Lynchburg prosecutor has been both a Democrat and an Independent in his 20
years on the job.
Now he's running for re-election as a Republican.
Petty says the GOP has shown it's the only party that's serious about
prosecuting criminals and protecting the public.
Several statewide candidates including attorney general Jim Gilmore attended
Petty's coming- out party.

A new report finds children are more than twice as likely as adults to be
killed by a car when biking.
More than 800 cyclists were killed, and another 75-thousand were injured
annually during the last decade.
Advocates are calling for more transportation money to be used for bike
trails, and roads to accommodate bicycles and pedestrians.

The Salem Avalanche made it three in a row over the Lynchburg Hillcats
tonight by beating their Hill City visitors 9 to 5.

The Blue Ridge District softball tournament is underway. Tonight;

Northside's Katie Hail connects on the infield single that plates Jenell Holler

advance in the Blue Ridge Tournament with the 17 to nothing victory over the
lady Wildcats. Northside will play the winner of the Salem/Christiansburg game.
Radford claimed the Region C girls tennis title today with an easy victory
over Galax on the Dedmon Center courts.
The Lady Bobcats have now won the Region eight of the last nine years.
The Three Rivers District champions shook off a early morning rain delay to top
the Galax maroon Tide; which won the Mountain Empire district crown this
season. Radford wins the Region C title with a 8-2 victory.
