The blaze at 9-10 Taylor Street was reported around 2:30.
The first crews on the scene found the back of the two- story, wood- frame
home engulfed in flames.
It took firefighters about a half hour to bring the blaze under control.
Authorities say the house was being renovated and they don't believe anyone
has been living there.
The fire appears to have started in the rear of the building, on the
outside.
The Lynchburg fire marshal is investigating.

charged with the county's first murder in three years were in court yesterday.

abducting, robbing and shooting to death Lisa Yvonne Crider May 11th.
Crider's body was found dumped in the James River near Bent Creek.
Hedrick is charged with capital murder and could face the death penalty if
convicted.
He was given a court-appointed attorney and ordered held without bond.
Jones' bond was set at half a million dollars.

fled after the killing.
