It happened on Route four-60 just after six-30 this evening.
Police say the pickup truck, driven by Christopher Fisher of Elliston, rear-ended a car that was turning left.
Several people were thrown from the pickup.
Two of them were seriously injured and were airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
No one in the car was injured.
Christopher Fisher is under arrest tonight.

The gunman, 20 year old Thomas Stokell Junior, forced Applegate into the car and made him drive away.
The car was stopped 12 miles down the road at a police blockade, and Stovell gave up without a fight.

Flooding stranded some Colorado residents last night.

The water came from a broken water main that released 25 million gallons, flooding a three-quarter mile area three miles from downtown Denver.
About three dozen people were stranded by the water, some ended up on the roof of a store.
One flood victim was treated for hypothermia, but no one else was hurt.
Officials aren't sure what caused the water line to break.

An overturned truck slowed traffic for several hours near Valley View Mall in Roanoke.

Police say the driver of this truck was traveling down Hershberger Road with a hydraulic lift extended into the air.
Apparently the lift hit the Airport Road overpass and the truck overturned.
About 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into a storm drain.
Fire officials say the spill was contained to the drain.
Police are charging the driver with reckless driving.

A second accident in Roanoke landed this car INSIDE a convenience store.
According to police the driver of the car accidentally hit the accelerator, sending the vehicle crashing through the front door of the Seven-11 on Crystal Spring Avenue.
The car knocked down a steel support column and the front doors.
The car just missed a clerk standing behind the counter. And, no injuries were reported.

Bedford County police are warning people to be on the look-out for rabid animals.
This after a rabid fox bit a six-year old girl and her grandmother earlier this month.
The child was playing in a yard when the fox attacked her. The animal then turned and bit the girls' grandmother as she tried to kick it. A neighbor later killed the fox.
The two are being treated for possible rabies.

Lighting-up can REALLY be hazardous to your health as some Virginia smokers found out when their Marlboro cigarettes exploded.
Philip Morris Companies -- the maker of Marlboro -- believe the cigarettes may have been tampered with after they were made.
The people who lit up their Marlboro Reds reported explosions that covered them with black powder, temporarily blinding one of them. No one was seriously injured.
Police in northern Virginia are investigating three other complaints of exploding cigarettes during the past week.

As more tourists crowd the roads, the American Automobile Association says it expects new records to be set.

Triple-A is estimating that 30-point-eight million people will travel at least 100 miles from home.
That's up by a half-million travellers compared to last year.
But at least one figure is going down--the cost of gasoline.
Triple-A spokesman Randy Green says a gallon of regular gasoline is down about nine cents from last year. Motorists this summer can expect to pay about one-dollar and 16-cents.
