Residents still have to contend with several feet of mud left behind.
In Roanoke County, rain sent creeks out of their banks forcing officials to
close some roads.
This portion of Carvin's Creek Road in the County was under several feet of
water this afternoon.
The severe storms dumped more than two inches of rain in some areas.
State police had their hands full on interstate 81 this morning with three
accidents during heavy rain storms tied up traffic.
In this accident, state police say 25-year-old Johnathon Montvale Goodman of
Roanoke, ran off the left side of the road near the 132 mile marker.
The car then struck the median and flipped over.
Goodman was not seriously injured but his passenger did suffer injuries.
Officials took that person to Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Goodman is being charged with reckless driving.
The name and condition of the passenger is not being released.
