The first trial in a second-hand smoking lawsuit against the tobacco
companies began in court today.

In a low turnout primary, the well-organized Christian Coalition could have
a major impact in Virginia.
The group's new voter guides are out.
And they don't completely favor the Republican considered the Coalition's
main candidate for attorney General: Mark Earley.
The Coalition chose to include Earley's support of binding arbitration for
teachers in it's guide.
Opponent Jerry Kilgore says that's bad news for a Republican.

For 20 years Alvin Hudson has been the Sheriff of Roanoke, but now he plans
Today, Hudson confirmed he will not run for re-election.
He's stepping down when his current term expires at the end of the year.
Hudson says it was a difficult decision to make, one that he wrestled with
up until Saturday's filing deadline.

The tobacco industry is back in court -- this time in Florida, with flight
Jury selection has begun in a class-action suit filed by attendants.
They claim second-hand smoke in airliner cabins has made them sick-- and
they're seeking five billion dollars.
Their lawyers will have to convince a jury that second-hand smoke causes
illness and that cigarette makers knew it.
For millions of women, balancing the demands of being a mom along with a
stressful full-time job has pretty much become routine.
But a new study suggests that pregnant women, used to burning the midnight
oil, should cut back on the workload.

Studying nearly 600 female attorneys over a two-year period, researchers
found those who worked more than 45 hours a week were five times more likely to
report feeling stressed out, and three times more likely to experience a
miscarriage in the first trimester.
That's compared to women who work less than 35 hours a week.

One little hamster is creating olympic size excitement in Illinois.-
Take a look at this video shot by a pet store owner.
The hamster is more like a gymnast doing back flips off a miniature house
in his cage.
In fact the little guy did so many back flips- continuously for nearly
four hours- the pet store owner finally took the house out of the cage.
Apparently the hamster was so tired he started flipping onto his head.
