Investigators say last night's fire at Bedford Memorial Hospital was an accident.
Preliminary investigations indicate the fire was caused by a hot plate in a recreation room storage closet.
The hot plate was accidently turned on when a circuit breaker was flipped.
Officials say an automatic sprinkler system and the quick work of fire, rescue, and hospital personnel kept the situation from becoming much worse.
Steve Smallshaw has more.
