Ten might sound young but new data suggest that it's a completely normal age to begin puberty.
A recent study of more than 17-thousand young women found that close to half of African American girls and 15 percent of white girls show signs of pubic hair and breast development by age 8.
What hasn't changed is the age at which girls begin menstruating which is still around age 12.
