support at today's Democratic party mass meeting.
Nearly 400 people showed up at William Byrd High School to decide who would
represent the party on the ticket for the Vinton seat.

Nickens says he was humbled by the amount of support he received today.

Humanity.
The group left Salem this morning en-route to Christiansburg.
The cyclists will pedal at least 60 miles during a normal day's travel.
This is the fourth year a college group has made the cross country trip.
Money raised on this trip will help build the second collegiate Habitat
house in New England.
Habitat for Humanity helps people who normally couldn't afford it, build
homes.

The 19 year old Majoli broke Hingis's serve three times and never faced a
break point during the 79 minute match.
She beat Hingis in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 to become the first Croation
player to win a grand slam title. She also is the lowest seeded player ever to
win the French Open.

Top seed Oliver Mayo was knocked out of the singles competition this
morning in the Central Virginia Invitational Tennis Tournament in Lynchburg.

But earlier this year, Mayo was a main part of the Tennis program at Virginia
Tech.
The Hokies won the Atlantic 10 championship made it to the sweet 16 and was
