For years, the General Assembly has vetoed charter school legislation.
But, this time Allen says he plans to work charter schools into the

has initiated an investigation into Davis's conduct by the Virginia State Bar.
Hines was a client of Davis when she made the videotape first seen on NEWS
7.

(STAH-lee).

Hines says she complained to the State Bar about Davis's professional

She alleges that on several occasions over two years, Davis asked her to
meet him to discuss her case.

A Lynchburg man is dead after his car collided with a rescue vehicle.
State police say 34-year-old Robert Allen Trujillo was making a right turn
from route 6-63 on to route 2-21 in Bedford County.
The investigator says he apparently failed to stop for a traffic light and
was struck by the ambulance.
The accident happened around 12-15 this morning.
Trujillo died a half hour later at Lynchburg General Hospital.

A Roanoke woman who slugged her son's school principal got a suspended jail
sentence and community service.
The incident happened in February.
According to published reports, thirty-nine year old Kathy Lynn Dales
punched Richard Poindexter in the nose and mouth after meeting with him at his
office.
Poindexter is the principal of the Roanoke Academy for Mathematics and
Science.
He had apparently called Dales to the school to talk about her 10-year-old
son's disruptive behavior.
Last month, a judge convicted Dales of battery because of the incident.
Dales is supposedly planning to appeal her sentence.

Some collegiate cyclists are proving pedal power can build homes for needy
families.
The group, made up of mostly students from Yale University, is biking across
the country.

The group left Salem this morning en-route to Christiansburg.
The cyclists will pedal at least 60 miles during a normal day's travel.

house in New England.
Habitat for Humanity helps people who normally couldn't afford it, build
homes.
