The defense today argued that McVeigh's crime was political-- not like a serial killers-- and therefore he deserved life in prison, not execution.
In what prosecutors would later liken to a terroristic threat, McVeigh's lawyer inferred that an execution would threaten what he called domestic tranquility.

Similarities in two murder cases in Spotsylvania County, may increase the possibility the victims were killed by the same person.
An autopsy shows 16-year old Sofia Silva had been shaved in the genital area when her body was found last October.
A Washington television staion quotes sources that 15-year old Kristen Lisk was also shaved.
Her body was found with her 12-year old sister Katie last month.
More evidence that may link the killings: all three girls disappeared from their homes after school, all had dark hair and the bodies were all found in water.
