He's accused of setting the fire that killed 21- year- old Christopher Mirch
of Herndon.

Friends of Mirch say they always thought the fire was intentionally set.

There is some indication this morning that an agreement between cigarette
makers and the states suing them is just around the corner.
A source close to the talks says negotiators hope to wrap things up next
week.
Thirty-five states are suing tobacco companies for the Medicaid
costs of sick smokers.
In return for a settlement, the companies want protection from further
suits.
Still, the White House reports both sides still have a lot of work to do and
don't seem to be any closer to a deal.
