have been mulling over a life or death question-- the fate of Timothy McVeigh.

The attorneys who had asked jurors to give their client life in prison instead
of a death by injection said Tim Mcveigh visited last night
with his parents.

Some of the parents whose children were killed by the truck bomb
waited outside the courthouse.
Charles Tomlin said he will accept whatever jurors decide but he
hopes they sentence McVeigh to death.

A public defender is currently representing a former Radford University
student accused of setting a fire that killed another student.
20- year old Michael Harvey was arrested this week while undergoing National
Guard training at Fort A- P Hill.
He's accused of setting fire to the Delta Tau Chi fraternity house at
Radford University in February of 1996.
21- year old Christopher Mirch died in the blaze.
For now, Harvey has been appointed a public defender.
But a judge says if he's able to make bond and return to work, where he was
making about 250-dollars a week, he'll have to hire his own attorney.
The plane that crashed in Montgomery County last week, apparently turned
sharply before nose-diving into a hillside.

The National Transportation Safety Board released a preliminary report on
the fatal crash, confirming initial reports at the crash site.
The N-T-S-B report also indicated the single engine Cessna lost a wing

An environmental group tried to convince a federal judge today to stop
construction of the smart road... a four-lane highway between Blacksburg and
Site preparation is already underway just outside the town limits.
In court today, attorneys for the government revealed the road will be wider
and will carry vehicles faster than originally planned.

Virginia's had 40 years of lawyer-governors.
It's a pitch Don Beyer makes on the campaign trail and on TV.

The problem is that Beyer's mechanic papers expired in the late '80's.
An official of the certifying organization says the expiration doesn't
matter and Beyer can still call himself an auto mechanic.
Beyer and his brother own "Don Beyer Volvo" and have just opened a Land
Rover dealership in northern Virginia.
Sports car for sale--but there's a catch-- NO driving allowed.
Boones Mill is selling it's marked police camaro, lights and all.
Lieutenant Lynn Frith says the 1991 car has performed great over the years,
but the vehicle needs some costly repairs to continue its job performance.
The town paid more than 14-thousand dollars for it six years ago and has
already ordered a replacement--a 1998 Z-28.
Frith says he's placing ads in national car magazines hoping to entice big
bids from car collectors.

Money from the sale of the car will help pay for the new cruiser, expected
to cost more than 20-thousand dollars.
