Authorities search Henry County for a man they say is armed and dangerous as
an alleged robbery attempt ends violently.
And an appliance store could face more trouble as a creditor shows up to
repossess some merchandise.

Spotsylvania County police are once again looking for a suspect in the
Sophia Sylva murder.
Today abduction charges against Karl Roush were dropped.
Roush was charged based on fiber evidence, but last week, the FBI discovered
the state crime lab made a mistake while analyzing the fibers.
Today in court, Roush thanked his attorney.

With Roush out of the picture, it opens the possibility that the same
person killed Silva, and sisters Kristin and Kati Lisk.
Autopsy reports found similarities in the two crimes.
They were taking away merchandise by the truckload from a Roanoke appliance
Problem was, it wasn't customers doing the hauling at Crenshaw Electronics
and Appliances it was the repo-man.

Len Besthoff has more on the North Carolina chain that's had a short, but
troubled history in Virginia.
He's outside the Crenshaw's store at Valley View Mall in Roanoke.
So Len, basically we're talking a repossession here?
Jean, a finance company says Crenshaw owes it more than three- hundred-
But it believes a good chunk of that money can be recovered in the form of
Crenshaw merchandise that's in this store and one in Lynchburg.

(( It ended up a locksmith held the key to the repossession, because no one
from Crenshaw was there to help the interested parties in the store.
All the players were there, from Deustche Financial Services, the company
that Crenshaw owes money, to the city Sheriff's office.
The only one missing was a Crenshaw representative, it's Roanoke store was
was closed for "inventory".
Eventually, inventory did begin moving out, and quite a bit of it.
Deustche says the refrigerators and other appliances represent more than
100- thousand- dollars worth of money it has loaned Crenshaw.
A Crenshaw representative said "Crenshaw has been in discussions with
Deutsche and was trying to work things out. And then, all of the sudden, this
This unnerved one Crenshaw's customer who called the store for service and
the Roanoke Sheriff's department picked up the phone.

A maiden flight in an experimental plane ended- when the plane crashed in
Buchanan County last night.
State police say the pilot, 31 year old James Goodwin of Cedar Bluff was
killed when the plane went down in the Short Gap area about 8:30.
Goodwin took off from a private airfield in Buchanan County, and was trying
to fly to Tazewell County.
Their hard work helped avert a disaster and today they're getting an
official "thank you".
Two weeks after fire damaged the nursing home at Bedford Memorial Hospital,

Vancouver Grizzly George Lynch has turned in his NBA jersey for a
whistle and a clipboard this week. His 7th annual Hometown Basketball camp
tipped off today over at Ruffner and at William Fleming high school.
Lynch has 97 campers this year ranging in ages 7 to 15. The camp, which
welcomes boys and girls; runs through this Friday with each session beginning
at 10 in the morning and wrapping up at 2pm. Having fun at a George Lynch camp
goes hand in hand with solid instruction with a focus on the fundamentals.

North Carolina's new NHL franchise is having to battle in court to secure the
use of its new nickname, the Hurricanes, but the team is so confident it will

The franchise which will eventually settle in Raleigh, has junked its blue,
