It's at the more rural rest stops where he feels more vulnerable to robbery attempts.

State Troopers hope to cut down on crime by making themselves more visible.
They've posted "State Police Parking Only" signs, and they are making more frequent checks of rest stops.
But they maintain the best way to stay safe on the road is to be aware of your surroundings.

Today, however... both Chevie and Cheyne Kehoe are in custody without incident.
Older brother Chevie surrendered without a fight when he was surprised by ATF agents at a feed store in Cedar City Utah this afternoon. ...while this amateur video camera caught Cheyne turning himself in to a Washington state sheriff late yesterday and later reading a statement blaming his actions on abuse by federal lawmen. Retired minister Ray Barker, who helped arrange the surrender, guessed that the brothers were just tired of the chase.

State police say a charge of grand larceny is pending against Deputy Terry M. Smith.
He's accused of stealing a 290-dollar swimming pool from the Fairlawn K-Mart, last week.
Smith was off duty at the time of the alleged incident.
Sheriff Ralph Dobbins says Smith has been suspended pending the outcome of the state police investigation.

Danville City Council passed a resolution tonight to solve the traffic problem on Franklin Turnpike.
On a five-to two vote, Council authorized the building of a high-speed expressway looping around Franklin Turnpike.

Franklin turnpike will also be widened to four lanes.
Meanwhile, Council nixed the idea of a cul-de-sac to stop traffic at the city limits.
Opposing council members called the resolution weak and said it would cause problems as traffic on the Turnpike merges from five lanes in the county to only four in the city.

The National Hockey League announced another expansion explosion today as it picked up four new cities.
St. Paul, Atlanta, Columbus, Ohio, and Nashville, Tennessee are headed to the league.
And Nashville gets the first team because it already has an arena.
