Montgomery County authorities are asking the public for help in
identifying the man who robbed a Blacksburg bank last week.
They are releasing a photograph taken from a security camera in hopes someone
will recognize the culprit.

The National Bank of Blacksburg on Route 4-60 was robbed at gunpoint by a
white male who entered the bank last Tuesday.
The man apparently arrived at the bank in a taxi and then stole the car from
the driver.
The taxi was discovered a short time later outside Montgomery Regional
hospital.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff's
Department.

car accident.
Police say Jesse Clayton Cheatwood was a passenger in a pick-up, when it ran
off route 24 in Bedford County and hit a tree.
Police say Cheatwood was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the
truck.
The driver of the truck Lawrence Morgan Gibson remains hospitalized in
critical condition.
